The Society’s primary purpose is to advance Community Wealth Building within the Campbeltown Community Council area.
It achieves this by:
Acquiring and Stewarding Assets
Identifying and purchasing neglected, abandoned, or ownerless properties and land.
Democratic Ownership
Ensuring the community has a direct voice in how local assets are used through a membership structure.
Preserving Heritage
Protecting the architectural character of Campbeltown, particularly within its Conservation Area.
Providing Infrastructure
Offering affordable workspaces, housing, and public amenities to support local enterprises.
Financial Model & Income Generation:
As a Community Benefit Society, Diamond Vault can raise funds through unique channels:
Community Shares:
The Society can issue withdrawable share capital, allowing local people to invest directly in their community’s future.
Grants & Mortgages:
It is eligible for capital grants and commercial mortgages to fund major renovations and acquisitions.
Rental Income:
Wealth is generated by leasing refurbished assets at affordable rates to local businesses and organisations.
Reinvestment:
All surpluses are legally “locked” they cannot be paid out as profit to individuals but must be reinvested into the community or the upkeep of the buildings.
